Students' Course Advice

Undergraduate Advice

Most of our students take our courses as part of a B.Sc. degree or a B.E. (Hons.), although many courses can count as part of a B.Comm. or other degrees. COSC110 is in the arts schedule so is taken by students from all around the university, and is recommended for students majoring in Computer Science.

For advice on the two majors in our department, see the page with more details on the Computer Science major and the Software Engineering major

Nearly all our courses can be part of either degree; the exceptions are that SENG202 and SENG402 may only be taken as part of a B.E. in Software Engineering. Note that both degrees typically involve a mixture of COSC, SENG and ENCE courses. The SENG 300-level courses can count towards a major in Computer Science.
